Counseling Clinic

Our Lady of the Lake University – Rio Grande Valley’s Community Counseling Service (CCS) is a community-based service that trains counseling psychology master’s students.  The CCS offers individual, couple/marital, or family counseling services to residents of the Rio Grande Valley.  Most of our clients are self-referred or referred by community agencies, friend, the University, or other schools.

The CCS staff is concerned with mental health needs of the Rio Grande Valley.   
The CCS is staffed by the OLLU's Psychology Department Faculty members. Our teams of clinicians include Marriage and Family Master’s students in training; all trainees are supervised by licensed professionals.  For the most part, we provide each client with a team of counselors to help them manage their problems in an efficient and comprehensive way. Clients find our therapy teams supportive and appreciate their professionalism.

Le damos importancia a las culturas, religiones, experiencias, habilidades, y recursos de nuestros clientes; y adoptamos estos detalles para crear las metas del tratamiento. En colaboración con nuestros clientes, en las terapias nos enfocamos en buscar la solución o soluciones de cada problema. Por ejemplo, las soluciones se pueden enfocar en el desarrollo de la comunicación entre parejas o familias. Igualmente, las soluciones pueden enfocarse en el crecimiento personal.
